About the GlaStar
The GlaStar is a versatile kit-built airplane with folding wings and seating for two (by design), but we intend to install a jump seat for a third person.
Wings and tail surfaces are constructed with aluminum materials, and the fuselage consists of a steel-tubing cage enclosed in a fiberglass shell.
This airplane can be configured as a tail-dragger or with tricycle landing gear. Ours will be a tricycle, like the one in the photo on the right.
Various engines are suitable for the GlaStar. In order to keep it simple, we'll use a Lycoming O-360 or a clone such as the Superior XP-360 with a fixed-pitch propeller.
